The art gradient
Concept Note: Sophistication Beyond the Neon
For The Timeless Atrium, we defied the typical co-working stereotype of loud prints and neon lights. The brief called for a space that was sophisticated and sustainable—both in aesthetics and operations. We crafted a “neutral-heavy” environment where earthy tones and raw textures foster a sense of serene focus. By adhering to green building standards and prioritizing operational sustainability, we created a high-traffic haven that feels as calm as it is vibrant.
Key Highlights
- Glare-Conscious Orientation: Following a rigorous site analysis of the linear rectangular floor plate, we strategically positioned workstations so employees face away from the north-facing glazing. This maximizes natural light while eliminating screen glare, ensuring all-day visual comfort.
- The “Floating” Reception: By tucking the reception into a corner, we created an unobstructed visual axis from the entrance to the city views. This “unlocked” floor plan gives members an immediate sense of openness and professional scale upon entry.
- Columns as Island Sanctuaries: Rather than treating structural columns as obstacles, we used them to carve out “Island Seating.” These enclaves serve as private meeting nooks and a viewing gallery for art, turning structural necessity into an architectural asset.
- Artistic Acoustics: In a nod to our Technical Integrity pillar, we utilized heavy-textured rugs as wall-mounted artwork. These pieces double as high-performance acoustic panels, absorbing sound during peak hours without sacrificing the minimalist aesthetic.
- Operational Sustainability: True to the client’s vision, the site integrates energy-efficient lighting and water-saving CP/sanitary fixtures. Every material choice was vetted against green building standards to ensure a lower environmental footprint.
- The Bar Focal Point: We transformed a central plumbing shaft into a sophisticated bar backdrop. This move elegantly hides the technical infrastructure while creating a visual barricade that keeps the “back-of-house” logistics discreetly out of sight.
